Step 2: Set up and run the
software
After you install all of the
software, you will need to set your options. For instance, for
virus protection, you will need to have it scan your incoming
and outgoing email, downloaded files, and have it automatically
run a virus scan of your system on a regular basis. Make sure
that your firewall is turned on, and set all of your security
levels to ‘high’ if you are given that option.
Once you’ve run the virus
protection, restart your system, and then run the spyware
program to check your system for spyware and adware. Remove all
spyware and adware, and then restart your system again.
