Your IP Number
Unfortunately, your IP number, or Internet
Protocol number, is necessary to interact with many websites
when you are connected to the Internet. It can also be used to
pinpoint your location. If you are using a small, local Internet
Service Provider, and someone gets your IP number and looks it
up at whois, they will be able to see what town you’re in. That
is why you either need to hide your IP number, which will not be
easy, use a national ISP, or use an ISP in a different area than
you are in.
